Jordan King creates kaleidoscopic paintings that reveal a vibrant view of the world. Although abstract in nature, King attributes specific titles to seemingly non-figurative compositions, like “Freaky Woman.” Jordan’s compositions demand steady exploration, during which new shapes or even recognizable elements emerge, like an eye or an animal. When faced with Jordan’s work, the act of looking becomes an active one as opposed to a mere receiving of information, an invitation into other modes of thinking and observing.
