From Outsider Art Fair:

The Outsider Art Fair is excited to announce Here and Now, the third and final phase of our digital exhibition, Art Brut GlobalHere and Now will feature sixty-seven accomplished living artists from around the world.

The related fields of Art Brut, Folk Art and Outsider Art are commonly associated with canonical heroes like Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, Aloïse Corbaz, Henry Darger, Thornton Dial, William Edmondson, Martín Ramírez, Judith Scott, Bill Traylor, and Adolf Wölfli. Here and Now brings deserved attention to the current generation of self-taught artists whose radically individualistic visions have propelled them to distinguished careers.

As recognition of self-taught artists has gained traction, and their influence on contemporary art become widely acknowledged, their work has been more regularly exhibited and collected beyond the boundaries of the Outsider world, where it was first discovered and shared publicly.

In addition to having their art shown at well-known specialized museums within the field like the the Collection de L’Art Brut (Lausanne), American Folk Art Museum (New York), Halle Saint Pierre (Paris), The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, WI), Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art (Chicago), and the American Visionary Art Museum (Baltimore), artists such as Susan Te Kahurangi King, Lonnie Holley, Dan Miller, Michel Nedjar, Luboš Plný, Leopold Strobl, Melvin Way and George Widener have had their works exhibited and/or collected by mainstream institutions like the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the Hayward Gallery (London), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Museum of Modern Art (New York), and the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC). Moreover, in recent years, several of these artists have been awarded solo museum exhibitions: Widener at the Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin, 2013), King at the ICA Miami (2016) and Nedjar at the LaM - Lille Métropole Musée d'art moderne, d'art contemporain et d'art brut (2017). Miller, Alyson Vega and Helen Rae have all had solo shows at White Columns (New York, 2007, 2016 and 2017 respectively), and Miller and Plný were featured at the Venice Biennale in 2017.

While many of those featured in Here and Now have been fixtures in the field for decades, like Charles Benefiel, François Burland, JJ Cromer, Donald Mitchell, Winfred Rembert, Ody Saban, Kevin Sampson, Christine Sefelosha, and Domenico Zindato, more recent arrivals on the stage include virtuoso draftsmen like Noviadi Angkasapura, Gil Batle, and M’onma.

Art Brut Global — Phase III: Here and Now will run from August 3rd to August 24th on the OAF viewing room platform. Please find the complete list of participating artists and galleries below:
