Participate in our Postcard Project

So many of us are dreaming of visiting the places we love right now. For Creative Growth artists, those dreams often take them to the Studio, a home away from home filled with friendly faces. To help tide us over, the Postcard Project has provided an opportunity for artists to connect with friends and mail in drawings and messages to the Studio. This summer, artist #LarryRandolph led the way, sharing his postcard design in process with everyone.⠀
⠀
You’re invited to participate, too! Draw a design, ask a question for artists or staff to answer, share your thoughts about an artwork, or send a message for the many artists missing their larger community. Use the #PostcardProject or mail a postcard to Creative Growth. And consider making a contribution, so that Creative Growth can continue to engage every artist now and also prepare to welcome everyone back to their home away from home when it’s safe to do so. Thank you!

A drawing on a card of two similar looking medium-dark skinned men sitting back to back on a sky blue background, looking out at the viewer. Each man has an afro and a moustache. The man on the left is wearing a rust red colored shirt and pants, and the man on the right is in a yellow and green top and brown pants, with a long necklace. Handwritten text above their heads reads ‘Larry Summer and Berry Summer.’ In between them is ‘1973’ written by hand. The bottom of the card reads ‘The Summer Brothers Twins Back in the 70 By Larry Randolph, 6-22-2020.’ On the right hand side of the card is a typed address that reads ‘Creative Growth Art Center, 355 24th Street, Oakland, CA 94612.
