Creative Growth is pleased to announce that William Scott will be included in NADA House, a public exhibition that takes place in turn-of-the-century colonial revival buildings on Governors Island in NYC. From May through August, visitors will be able to see Scott’s 2013 film, “Beautiful Peace on Earth” set to his musical score of the same title. In the film we accompany Scott as he walks the sunny streets of Oakland, CA while assuming the role of Darth Vader in one of his iconic papier-mâché masks. Through his gentle and casual portrayal, the character gains our sympathies and calls our assumptions of malevolence into question. Scott’s paintings and drawings envision alternative realities that stem from a deep belief in the potential for positive transformation, and the film beautifully represents the tenets of his oeuvre.
