Creative Growth is deeply proud to be part of the Oakland community and a longtime resident of the historic Uptown neighborhood. We are heartbroken and outraged by the brutal violence and continued injustice inflicted on Black individuals, the ongoing disenfranchisement of marginalized communities, and the pain caused by our broken system. Systemic oppression is not new to Creative Growth's diverse community of artists with disabilities, and we are committed to amplifying their voices as leaders and visionaries. We also know we need to assess how we are living up to our principles throughout our organization, and establish more equitable practices. We are committed to doing this work.
