Artist Statement
"Pretty good, pretty nice! Flying bird, bread, plate, plane. I made the plane you see there in the box in the 1990’s. Fifty years I have been coming here to Creative Growth. I've been coming here every day to make ceramics, draw shapes like stars and birds, and sew at Creative Growth since 1975. I grew up in Argentina. It took a long flight on a Pan Am airplane to get here.”

Artist Statement
I make art because I’m an artist—and because I’m good at it. I’ve been drawing since I was pretty young in Creative Growth’s youth program, and now I’m 25. I also started making art at home during the pandemic, and I haven’t stopped since.
I like to draw characters from movies I love, like Godzilla and Jurassic Park. Some creatures are good, and some are bad. Godzilla is my favorite. He’s a creature monster, maybe from Japan. He destroys the city, but only sometimes. Really, he defends people. He’s not the bad one—the *fake* Godzilla is the bad one. The real Godzilla saves the city and fights other monsters like Mothra. That’s what I want people to know.
When I draw Godzilla, I show him protecting the world. Sometimes he’s dark blue, bluish, or even dark green. I also like the three-headed monster, King Ghidorah, and other creatures too. I love to paint. It feels cool and relaxing to make lines with acrylic paint. It’s calming. Art feels good—and I think people will feel good when they see my work.”
