Creative Growth Art Center, the Oakland-based non-profit dedicated to championing artists with disabilities, is proud to announce its second runway show in partnership with New York-based fashion label 6397.
The ticketed event will take place on Thursday, October 30th at NEWS in SoHo, New York City.
The evening will be co-hosted by Kim Hastreiter and Mickey Boardman, both famed veterans of PAPER Magazine—Kim as co-founder and Mickey as long-time Editorial Director. Together with Stella Ishii, founder of NEWS and 6397, they will welcome guests to a celebration of art, fashion, and community.
Artists of Creative Growth have transformed 6397 clothing into a series of unique, one-of-a-kind garments. Each garment will be presented alongside original artworks from Creative Growth artists, offering attendees an extraordinary opportunity to experience and shop the creativity and vision of Creative Growth artists firsthand. All items will be immediately available for purchase following the fashion show, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Creative Growth Art Center.
Stella Ishii—owner of NEWS and Founder of 639 —has supported Creative Growth for more than two decades. Stella has hosted multiple Creative Growth exhibitions and permanently features Creative Growth artworks alongside collections from 6397 and other brands represented by her showroom.
